About Dr. Spencer Welch

For more than 45 years, I’ve been helping people and organizations discover what’s possible when clarity, purpose, and community come together. My work brings together everything I’ve learned from teaching, coaching, instructional design, and organizational leadership to help individuals and teams grow with intention and impact.

Over the past thirteen years, I’ve partnered with organizations across the United States and Japan to provide leadership development, executive coaching, strategic planning facilitation, mediation, and community engagement. I take a practical yet reflective approach—helping people surface what matters most, strengthen trust, and turn shared vision into action.

Before starting my consulting practice, I served as Director of the Danforth Educational Leadership Program at the University of Washington, where I led the redesign of one of the country’s leading programs for educational leaders. I also worked with the Center for Educational Leadership, supporting school and district leaders in building strong instructional communities.

Earlier in my career, I served as Executive Director of Human Resources and as a Principal in the Bellevue School District, where I had the privilege of working with incredible educators to transform Sammamish High School into one of the top-performing and most inclusive schools in the nation.

At heart, I’m a teacher and a connector. Whether I’m coaching an executive, facilitating a planning retreat, or guiding a team through change, my goal is the same: to create spaces where people feel heard, valued, and inspired to do their best work—together.

I’m a lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest and a proud graduate of the University of Washington, where I earned my B.A. in History, M.Ed., and Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
